New Brunswick, NJ, May 2019– For the past 6 years, the team at Unitex has been a major part and supporter of the New Brunswick School Kids Sweep-up Day. During this annual event, 5th graders from various New Brunswick schools removed litter around the school grounds and city streets. This year 1,680 pounds of litter was collected.

Volunteers from Unitex worked with students and teachers from Paul Robeson Community School for the Arts.  Everyone wore gloves and safety vests and took to the streets with pickers and bags in an effort to beautify the city in honor of Earth Day. In addition to helping lead groups of students around the city, the team at Unitex also provided lunch for everyone involved in the Sweep Up event.

“This event is important to our company and the local employees in New Brunswick and we are happy to be part of it every year,” said Seth Gershman, Marketing & Communications Director for Unitex. “The future of the planet is dependent on our younger generations and we feel that it is important to set a good example for the students we meet.”
