Elmsford, NY, May 21, 2018– Last month, Unitex and the sustainability team at New York-Presbyterian Hospital (NYP) collaborated for Laundry and Linen Week, to promote green efforts and educate staff on proper linen handling and utilization. The event coincided with Earth Day.

Representatives from Unitex and NYP spent a day at various NYP locations including: The Allen Hospital, Weill Cornell, Columbia Hospital, Lower Manhattan Hospital and The Children’s Hospital of New York to speak to employees, hand out items and conduct educational Earth Day quizzes. Monika Sheikh, Corporate Sustainability Program Administrator at New York-Presbyterian Hospital helped organize the week-long event.

“We were happy to work with Ms. Sheikh and her team to help bring Laundry and Linen Week to New York-Presbyterian Hospital,” said Seth Gershman, Marketing & Communications Director for Unitex. “Earth Day and awareness around sustainability is important to our company. This event, in particular, is part of our ongoing efforts to support the important conversation regarding the proper handling of linens and to continue discussions around all the positive things we do at Unitex to best assist our NYP partners.”
