Unitex has always prided itself on being a local company. Through our many projects and initiatives, as well as numerous partnerships with clients and other community stakeholders, Unitex has extended its arm and provided various types of aid to the local communities we are a part of.
One of the projects we are most proud of, created in collaboration with many of our partner facilities, is the concert series for senior living facilities. Through this program, we’ve brought the gift of music to the senior residents of our partner facilities across New York, Long Island, and Westchester County. We’ve seen the joy and cheer it gave the patients and so, Unitex intends to expand it further to reach our partner facilities in more locations within our Northeast service areas.
This is one way that we show our gratitude to the local communities that have wholeheartedly embraced us, and the companies that have entrusted us with their linen and garment care needs throughout the years.
More Than Just Laundry Service
Aside from projects of our own conception, we are also in partnership with many other agencies and nonprofit organizations, finding and giving ways to use our resources to advance their noble causes.
Last year, we partnered with Grad Bag, a green initiative program that aims to reduce waste by reusing college supplies. The collected materials were handed over to us at Unitex for washing and packaging so Grad Bag can go on to redistribute the materials to underprivileged college freshmen. Last year, our combined efforts yielded enough to benefit 2,000 students.
Around the same time, we worked with the St. Joseph’s Service project to provide care kits to the beneficiaries of Eva’s Village. For this project, we donated scrubs to go with the care kits which ultimately benefited a total of 53 individuals.
